According to a Vulture news blogger, Alejandra Gularte, who covers TV and comedy, Jason Bateman doesn't spend a lot of time with his sister, Justine Bateman, known for her role in 'Family Ties.' But before you jump to conclusions, it's not necessarily a sign of a strained relationship. In an interview with Esquire, Jason explained that they don't have the typical family gatherings, like every Thanksgiving or Christmas, with their kids wanting to be together. But here's where it gets interesting: Jason sees this as a positive thing. He described their conversations as those you'd have with a close adult friend, rather than the potentially petty back-and-forth you might experience with a sibling.
Justine herself has also made it clear there's no bad blood. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), she stated that anyone bringing up her brother for any reason other than to discuss his work would be muted or blocked. She expressed no interest in any imagined conflict related to political ideologies, calling it 'sick.' This was further emphasized when she shared her relief after the 2024 election, mentioning she felt like she was 'Decompressing from walking on eggshells for the past four years.'
So, while they may not be inseparable, it doesn't mean their relationship is negative. Jason clarified that they do spend time together, and it's built on mutual respect as individuals, regardless of their familial connection. He even mentioned they were planning to have lunch together.
